Machine-readable does not mean machine-chosen

Structured data can reduce ambiguity around a page’s entities, services, authorship and relationships. It cannot force a rich result, ranking or AI citation. The visible page still needs to be accurate, useful and accessible.

Build a consistent evidence layer

Use the narrowest valid schema type, keep every claim consistent with visible content and connect stable entity identifiers where they genuinely exist. Clear headings, concise answers, source context and update dates often matter more than adding another schema block.

  • Match schema to visible copy
  • Avoid ratings you cannot substantiate
  • Use descriptive internal links
  • Keep important answers in server-rendered HTML

Measure what can be measured

Track indexation, rich-result eligibility, query coverage and qualified conversions. Treat AI mentions as directional evidence, not a guaranteed channel. Honest reporting makes the work more durable.
